Whilst most people know him by the Wat Wat Wat Song from Tamasha, there is more to it than lies beneath the past years of dedication. If you ever come across the social handle of Shashwat Singh, you will find him singing, composing, and pretty much anything that you can expect from an artist of such stature. But what will keep you hooked to him is his story of becoming who he is now.

Shashwat Singh began his artistic career in 2009. The playback and independent musician started to compose music first with his brother Rishabh Singh, when they shifted their home to Pune from their birthplace, in Allahabad. However, as he passed his graduation, he was thought to pursue conventional paths like accounts and law. With much courage, Shashwat managed to convey his affinity towards music. “Music is all I understand and all I can relate to.” Says Shashwat.
Singh was exposed to music early on when he conducted an internship with veteran sound engineer Nitin Joshi, who has worked with Agnee, Indian Ocean and Shubha Mudgal. He enrolled in the KM music conservatory (KMMC) of A.R. Rahman in the year 2010, and this was when he developed a greater passion towards music. Registering for one of the vocal and piano preparatory courses.
He studied music theory and recording, even contributing his voice to coursework and film music made by Rahman. He organised his first Sufi band, NOOR, at KMMC, and became a member of a cappella group NAFS. A Hindi lyric-writing project resulted in Singh receiving an unexpected visit by the man himself, Rahman, who approved of what Singh had to say lyric-wise, although Singh himself was secretly hoping that he would be noticed as a singer.
There is another name that must be taken for he who has also shaped the the careergraph of Shashwat. Arijit Singh, the name says it all, is synonymous with the opulence of talent. It was in the year 2016 when Shashwat performed along with Arijit Singh Leicester live concert. Nevertheless, Shashwat not only delivered an electrifying performance but also crept millions of heart to earning him ample fame.
Now that Singh is a rising name of dedication and resilience in the Indian music industry, he delivers an unwavering performance. From Wat Wat Wat to “Zamaana Lage”, from Metro.. In Dino Shashwat is on everyone’s playlist. We Talentwala, an artist management agency, are proud and thrilled to curate a few shows of Shashwat Singh across India.
